The textbook deals with chemical processes thermodynamics, kinetics and equilibrium, with formation and properties of non-electrolyte and electrolyte solutions, with formation and properties of colloidal solutions and other colloidal systems as well coarse disperse particles having systems, with chemical composition of the natural water and its preparation for use, with chemical basics of treatment of the waste water. Great attention is given to interpret theoretical basics of the most widely used inorganic binding materials hardening processes and of the hardening products resistance to chemical action of aggressive environment during its use. The theoretical basics of oxidation-reduction processes, the running of these processes in constant current sources as well during electrolysis and during chemical and electrochemical corrosion of metals are described in the textbook. The electrochemical metal corrosion prevention is also widely described. The structure formation and properties of polymeric materials widely used in civil engineering are explained in the textbook as well. The textbook is designed for students studying chemistry modules for civil engineering and other branches of engineering at technical universities. All graduates of technical universities will also find useful chemical knowledge for their practical work in the text book.
