Description

Celestial spherical coordinates and time systems, which are important in geodetic astronomy, are analyzed in this study book. Considerable attention was paid to horizontal and equatorial coordinate systems. Movement of daily celestial bodies is described. The Star and Sun time systems connected to the Earth rotation axis as well as atomic time systems used in geodetic astronomy are analyzed. The issues of uneven rotation of the Earth and movement of the Poles are addressed. The relations among different time and coordinate systems are presented. The book describes the importance of celestial coordinate and time systems in application of satellite geodesy methods, gravimetric observations, research of the Earth shape and gravity field. The study book is designed for bachelor and master degree students of geodesy as well as the ones who study physical and satellite geodesy and theory of the shape of the Earth.
