The study book presents the most important cultural studies academic traditions and authors (mainly English-speaking countries), their ideas and the beginning of cultural studies in Lithuania. The study book provides an overview of the main intellectual traditions and its theories, which made impact on the emergence of the field of cultural studies, as well as major cultural studies conceptions and methodologies. The study book have glossary at the end. Cultural Studies is an interdisciplinary "field" and does not fit into a concrete scientific area and study field. The study book can be attributed to both the humanities and social sciences, because communication studies is based on the ideas and methods both sciences.
