The book readers are introduced to the concept of landscape, its origin and development. Detailed discussions about Lithuanian natural landscape types, formation and development trends are given. The concepts of landscape interface and environmental and landscape management are also considered. The concept of landscape subject, areas and tasks of the culture landscape formation and patterns are given as well.
Detailed overview is done about urban landscape, Lithuanian urban development and the peculiarities of their formation, nature protection in Lithuanian cities. The influence of urban vegetation patches urban fauna formation is shown. Also, the available rustic landscape conditions, trends and prospects will be described.
The concept of landscape value, recreational and aesthetic evaluation methodology is discussed. It is also shown the most damaged landscapes in Lithuania – the state military training grounds. The methodology mentioned above will also assess the losses of natural landscape components – relief, vegetation, soil, etc. It is described how the landscape, especially rustic landscapes contribute to climate change. The mentioned topics are especially important for state and municipal similar and different monitoring programs in determined landscape. The landscape area, status, condition and trends are described in detail.
