Description

The aim of the monograph is to analyze the reasons, the frequency and the forms of pupils’ aggressive behaviour against teachers and school friends in different kinds of urban and rural schools (primary, basic, secondary (gymnasium) and profiled teaching schools (art and technologies) and to disclose the attitude of teachers, pupils and their parents towards aggression in schools and the efficiency of the applied preventive measures. The monograph consists of 5 chapters, conclusions, literature, summary in English, subject index and index of names. There are also appendixes which present the sociodemographic information about the respondents of the research. The measures used against perpetrators in school are mainly oriented to the punishment of the guilty. Its range is quite wide – from a warning to removal from school, but it is generally satisfied with the softest means (warning). Radical measures are very rare, because they would harm the reputation of the school. Although preventive measures against perpetrators of violence proposed by teachers and parents are different, some are more of educational nature – suggestions to look for ways to attract, hold, actively involve, provide psychological support, others are more administrative – managerial in nature (include the positions of a policeman the and a children’s room inspector), but in general they are oriented not to the punishment of perpetrator, who committed the criminal act, but to the prevention of such act.
